Life is a Puzzle – But You Don’t Have to Solve It Alone
By Katie Joy, The Global Butterfly

I recently spent a few hours putting together a 300-piece 3D jigsaw puzzle. At first glance, it looked simple. Just 300 pieces? Easy.

But as we started sorting the edges from the centre pieces, we quickly realised this puzzle was anything but easy. The 3D design distorted the patterns. What seemed to fit often didn’t. The more we tried to force pieces together, the more frustrating it became.

My son quit.

He decided it was too hard and walked away, choosing to do something easier.

But I always finish what I start.

I quieted the mental chatter of “This is too hard” and replaced it with “Just find one piece that fits. Then the next.”

One step at a time.

And just like that, what once felt overwhelming became manageable.

The puzzle that inspired this piece. What seemed simple at first turned out to be far more challenging—just like business, life, and alignment.

Your Life & Business Are Like a 10,000-Piece Puzzle (With No Lid)

This small puzzle represents the challenges we all face in life and business.

Most people quit before they even start—because they decide something is too hard before giving themselves the chance to find a way forward. Others begin but get stuck, forcing the wrong pieces together or holding onto ones that no longer fit, yet feeling unable to let go.

When clients come to me, they often feel like they’re staring at a 10,000-piece puzzle with no lid—no clear vision, no map of where things go.

They have a few pieces in place. They’ve made some progress. But there are still many pieces upside down—ignored, avoided, or dismissed because they assume those pieces aren’t important.

Instead of turning them over to see their value, they stay stuck in what they “know” or what feels safe.

And that’s where most people go wrong.

The False Premise That Hard Work Alone Equals Success

Most entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders have been conditioned to believe that success comes from effort and external action alone. They pride themselves on being proactive, taking massive action, and constantly doing more.

They tell themselves:
✔ "If I just work harder, I’ll break through."
✔ "I need more strategies, more marketing, more sales calls."
✔ "I’ll throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks."

And so, they go all in—
⚡ Hustling to get more clients
⚡ Posting on every social platform
⚡ Trying endless marketing tactics
⚡ Taking every networking opportunity

They are constantly in motion but rarely in momentum.

Because here’s the truth: External action without internal alignment is like trying to force puzzle pieces together that don’t fit.

No matter how hard you try, if the pieces aren’t aligned, the puzzle remains incomplete.

Why Inner Work Is the Missing Piece

What most people ignore—because it seems intangible, unmeasurable, or even uncomfortable—is the power of inner alignment before taking action.

Success isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing the right things from a state of clarity, conviction, and alignment.

Before taking massive action, you must first ask:

1️⃣ Am I clear on my vision and the result I actually want? (Or am I just throwing spaghetti at the wall?)
2️⃣ Is this action aligned with my energy and strengths? (Or am I just copying what others say works?)
3️⃣ Do I feel certain this will work, or am I hoping, doubting, and second-guessing?
4️⃣ Is this decision or action aligned with my highest vision of myself or my business, my core values, and my goals? (Am I making a principle-based decision rather than a situational-based one?)

Most people skip this step—and that’s why they struggle.

They hustle harder, yet the results don’t match their effort. They push and grind, yet success feels inconsistent.

Because they are reacting to external challenges instead of aligning internally first.

Where You THINK the Answers Are vs. Where They REALLY Are

Most people believe that solving their problems means:
✔ Getting more information
✔ Doing more things
✔ Working harder

But the truth is, clarity and alignment come from seeing differently, not doing more.

This is where levels of consciousness come into play.

🔹 At the first level, people try to "figure it out" on their own. They search for scattered strategies, free advice, and “hacks” without realising they’re only solving surface-level problems while the deeper misalignments remain untouched.

🔹 The next level is awareness. They realise that working harder isn’t the solution—but they still struggle to see what’s actually holding them back. They keep looking outside themselves for a breakthrough when what they truly need is a shift in perception.

🔹 Then comes alignment. This is where transformation happens. When you start recognising the patterns instead of the pieces, the puzzle finally begins to make sense.

And this is where I do my best work.

Why It’s Faster (and Smarter) to Get Help

I have spent decades honing my ability to see patterns—quickly, intuitively, and with precision.

When my clients bring me their “messy puzzle,” I immediately see the missing pieces, the misaligned connections, and the blind spots they’ve overlooked.

Instead of spending months (or years) struggling alone, trying to force things to fit, they get a clear strategy, faster breakthroughs, and a renewed sense of confidence.

They go from:
Feeling overwhelmed to knowing exactly where to focus
Spinning in circles to making meaningful progress
Second-guessing every move to trusting themselves and their vision

Life and business are intricate puzzles. The pieces are all there—you just need someone who knows how to see the patterns, guide you through the process, and help you finish what you started.

Are you ready to turn your scattered pieces into a masterpiece?
